A compact digital I/O board with LEMO connectors, designed for testing White Rabbit functionality in the SPEC demonstration package. It offers five programmable I/O ports (LVTTL/LVDS) with 200 MHz bandwidth, rise/fall times up to 2 ns, and +15 V pulse protection—ideal for ultra-precise time and event distribution nodes and other digital applications. 

Technical Specifications

5 I/O ports with independently programmable direction (LEMO 00 connectors) 

• Output levels: LVTTL, capable of driving +2.5 V into 50 Ω; outputs go to Hi-Z when unpowered 

• Input levels: any logic standard in the range Vih = 1 V to Vih = 5 V; threshold programmable per input 

• Output rise/fall times: max. 2 ns; I/O bandwidth: 200 MHz 

• Programmable 50 Ω input termination per channel 

• LVDS I/O on the carrier side 

• One input can drive the global clock grid on the operator’s FPGA 

• Inputs and outputs protected against +15 V pulses up to 10 μs at 50 Hz 

• 4-layer PCB ensuring stability and reliability 

This module is designed to work with the Simple PCIe FMC Carrier – SPEC, creating a simple White Rabbit node for ultra-precise time and event distribution networks.
